Melomed 24 Ambulance Services is a completely Black owned and managed enterprise that was launched in November 2003. The ambulance services was launched to address the key issue of providing immediate and reliable emergency medical transport services to the previously disadvantaged Black community living in the Cape Flats and surrounding areas. It is the only private ambulance unit based full time on the Cape Flats offering convenience and accessibility previously unavailable in the area.

The Ambulance unit boasts modern ambulances equipped with the latest state of the art medical emergency equipment. The unit also includes a rapid response vehicle and together has the ability to deal with any medical emergency 24 hours a day.

Once again Melomed24 brings new hope to the community. Trained paramedics manage and operate the ambulance service. Our paramedics are trained to offer Basic life support, Intermediate life Support, and Advanced Life support and more recently advanced medical rescue.

Our fleet currently consists of six ambulances, one emergency response vehicle and one fully equipped rescue vehicle encompassing the latest extrication equipment able to assist in mountain and fire rescue.

Melomed 24, being part of the Melomed Group of Hospitals, has and will always comply with the Department of Trade and Industry's Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Policy. Our Policy ensured our paramedics were specifically selected from the areas they will serve.

Melomed 24 caters for all Medical Aids and Private patients, Injury on Duty (WCA/COIDA) and also offers standby events.
