Requirements:
Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
Post Basic Diploma in Operating Theatre Technique
5 years Operational Experience in a Theatre Unit
Scrub experience in Cardiothoracic Neurosurgery and or Ophthalmology will be advantageous
Previous experience in a management position will be advantageous
Knowledge of the legislative and Occupational Health and Safety requirements
Valid Drivers license and ability to travel
Afterhours availability own transport

Key Outputs:
Be operational as well as manage the administrative duties
Manage the Theatre Department
Liaise and communicate with Surgeons
Management of staff
Ensure adherence to policies and procedures at all times
Manage staff according to the Basic Conditions of Employment and the Disciplinary Code, staff-planning and Recruitment and Selection of staff
Manage the day to day problem solving.
Stock and equipment management including ordering of stock and equipment
Accurate billing of stock utilised
Training and development of Theatre staff
After hours cover as per a roster
Conduct regular inspections
Maintain infection control strategies and procedures of the hospital
Maintain health and safety principles
Maintain and apply the required discipline
Evaluation, intervention and resolution of patient complaints and queries
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports
Manage ad hoc projects as and when required

Registered Scrub Nurse - Theatre
Requirements:
Current Registration with SANC as a Registered Nurse
Minimum 2-3 years experience in an Operating Theatre
A qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing Science will be an advantage
Theatre Scrubbing skill is essential
Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders, build relationships with Doctors and work in all disciplines
Must be flexible to work overtime, do standby duty and do call

Clinical competence in accordance with relevant Scope of Practise
Ability to function as an effective member of the nursing team
High energy levels and tolerance for stress
Well-developed interpersonal and organisational skills
The ability to function effectively under pressure
Liaison between parents, doctors and personnel

Effective stock and equipment control
Strong quality patient care orientation
BLS competent
Supervise and orientate junior staff members and students
Competently administering Intravenous and Intramuscular medication

Unit Manager - Maternity Unit
Requirements:
Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
Post Basic Diploma and / or relevant qualifications as an Advanced Midwife
Minimum of 5 years experience in a Maternity Unit
Previous experience in a similar Unit Manager position
Excellent Leadership qualities and mentoring skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and problem-solving skills
The skill to manage nursing standards and in-service training
Maintain a professional image and character
Accurate record keeping and the management of stock

Proven Labour Ward experience
Able to scrub for emergency caesarean cases
