Our new facility was purposefully built taking each and every patient needs into consideration and the facility boasts expansive scenic views, ample parking, luxurious accommodation to cater for the healthcare needs ensuring that a holistic approach is followed to ensure the full recovery and wellbeing of our patients.Our highly skilled Specialist component supported by our dedicated nursing staff adhere to the highest standards of professional nursing treatment and are committed to caring for your health and well-being.

Our medical and surgical equipment boasts the latest advances in technology and is constantly updated, keeping the facilities at Melomed Richards Bay in line with the latest innovations in medical technology. Our facility houses 207 beds and can comfortably accommodate patients at any time, and provide a wide spectrum of specialist services, including Radiology, Pathology, Physiotherapy, and Speech Therapy. Our surgical expertise includes procedures such as major Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Spinal Orthopaedic Surgery, Urology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery), Dentistry, General and arterial surgery. In addition to the surgical offering the facility also boasts a 58-bedded medical ward, 33-bedded Paediatric ward, 10-bedded Cardiac ICU, and 12-bedded High Care Unit. The facility offers a state-of-the art dedicated Obstetrics & Gynaecology theatre housed in the 18 bedded maternity ward, supplemented by an 8-bedded NICU for neonate and ill babies.

Melomed Richard Bay�s Cardiac Centre of Excellence has a catheterisation laboratory (cath lab), cardiac theatre and dedicated cardiac ICU. The cath lab boasts the most advanced technology, including a multi-million-rand Siemens catheterisation machine. As the only one of its kind in Zululand, the cardiac centre allows for open-heart surgery to be performed without patients needing to travel, as the facility boasts a dedicated cardiac theatre in the theatre complex.
